Missionary, carpenter and mariner brothers, James and William Puckey from Cornwall, led adventurous lives in the Pacific in the late 1700s and early 1800s, and died unsung tragic deaths. Their lives intersected with earliest intentional settlement of Europeans in Tahiti, Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, where cultures and spaces met, collided or were negotiated.
